TALES

The Gray Cat Inn has four resident kitties, and not one of them are gray!  Celia, owner and operator of the Bed and Breakfast on Hwy. 99, named the Inn in honor of a cat she dearly loved, who has since passed.

The head cat now is, Domino, a fifteen pound, 14 year old black and white cat and the Inn's mascot. Celia says, "And, being a cat, he also thinks he's the owner!"  Because of his weight, guess which room of the Inn you will most likely find him?  The kitchen, of course, supervising Celia's cooking!

Domino enjoys attention from 'his' guests and honors them by sitting on their laps. He understands traveling, as he was born in California, and his Oregon pet peeve is getting his paws wet when he goes outside to play!

As guests at the Inn, prepare to also meet Taylor, Sparky and Two-Face.  Two-Face's name matches both her personality and the unusual division of markings on her face. She is a calico with a line drawn down the middle of her face.  People stare facsinated at her, because one side of her pretty face is orange, and the other is jet black with out one orange hair in it!

Celia laughs, "When our guests bring their beloved dogs with them, for the most part, our cats ignore them.  Domino and Two-Face like to watch the dogs from their perch up on the heater.  Taylor prefers hiding in the basement, and Sparky doesn't seem to notice the dogs at all!"

Celia's suggests, "My recipe for healthy cats; is a lot of attention, spoiling, spaying and neutering."   www.graycatinn.com

TIPS

Grooming is the purrfect time to check your animal for; ticks, skin health, and growths. Recently, while Mary Ellen "Angel Scribe" was grooming her beautiful Silver Persian, Nymbus, she discovered a lump hidden under his long fur.

The veterinarian was not sure what it was, "Monitor it. Let's wait and see what happens."

We waited and horrified watched as it continued to grow.

Sandra, a Tips 'n' Tales reader in Vader, Washington suggested, "My Cherokee grandmother would apply her warm [body temperature] Castor Oil cure.

My dog had a bump, so I did what she suggested, and the bump, grew to a cone shape, and then began to heal."

We did as she said, and the results were exactly as she said.
Gently warmed castor oil is sticky, so his fur was not too glamorous for awhile. The lump expanded, came to a cone, then something the size of a hard pea came out of it, and the wound closed up.

Always consult your veterinarian, and keep searching for answers, your pets rely on you.
