Manuel with kitty-cat Mo Joe, and Marcus with Pappy the Papillon
TALES
Nicole and Jeremiah recently moved their family from Orleans, California to our beautiful Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Their sons, two year old Manuel, and three year old Marcus, love their two year old dog, Pappy, and seven month old cat, Mo Joe. Mo Joe is a chatty cat, he is constantly communicating in meows.
Pappy and Mo Joe are best buddies. They are inseparable, and sleep and play together. Like a good big brother, Pappy protects Mo Joe. He chases stray cats away, when they get too close.
Bath time for Pappy is bedlam. After Nicole washes the dog, he shakes himself off, and the chase is on. The boys and dog, run through the house, squealing with laughter, until Pappy is air dried.
All three become so exhausted they can't move.
After a brief nap, Marcus excitedly calls out to Pappy, "Want a ride?" Pappy jumps up, runs over, and grabs onto the back of Marcus' pants to participate in the game.
Marcus then runs in circles, on the hardwood floors, laughing, as Pappy, joyously sweeps over the floors, polishing them with his fur.
"The children and our pets are wonderful play mates." says Nicole. "Life is great, when you have children and animals."
They also have a two year old Black Lab. Savage is the family's guard dog, and a bird dog, thus he was named after the Savage firearm. Every morning, when the boys wake up, they go to the cupboard, pick out a bone, and feed Savage his morning treat.
They are learning responsibility, and caring through their animals.
Manuel is Nicole's curious child, he is constantly asking life questions. He wants to know everything about dogs, like, "Why do dogs bark? Why do dogs sniff each other's tushies? Mom, I want to know!" And to the last question, Nicole responds, "Lets talk about that when you get older."
TIPS Nicole says, "We treat our pets just like our children. We believe in feeding everyone a healthy diet. We keep them clean, bathed and happy by spending time playing together."
