Buddy, a 6 year old Rottweiler,
and Kujo, a 3 year old
Miniature Pincher/Chihuahua mix.
TALES Tiffany says, "When I met Curtis, he had the sweetest dog, Buddy.
Then, three years ago, we saw some puppies advertised in the paper. Just for fun, we went to see them.
That is when we realized, 'Puppy looking is a trap!' Kujo captured our hearts, and we joyfully brought him home.
Now, after work, Curtis and I love coming home, and being greeted by our dogs. Buddy is so excited, he shakes his tailless bottom. And Kujo dances; he runs in circles, and jumps on our legs. It's a happy welcome, and appreciated, especially after a bad day.
Every summer, some of our favorite things are; watching Curtis race his car, and going to the lake. Buddy loves the water, and swims for hours.
Buddy has a habit of popping our blow-up water toys. He loves us so much, he tries to climb on them, or tow us around.
This might sound funny, unless you are in the middle of the lake, and have to swim back with a flat floatie!
When its time to go home, we have to drag Buddy out of the lake. Kujo, on the other hand, hates water. Once, Curtis gently put Kujo in the lake, to cool him off on a hot day. When Kujo swam to shore, he was mad at both of us...for hours!
Kujo weighs 8 pounds, and he thinks he is the 'biggest, baddest' dog in town. He barks and growls, at every dog he sees.
Buddy, on the other hand, thinks he is a lap dog, and constantly climbs on our laps...all 130 pounds of him! Last year, it was so funny, because Buddy climbed onto Curtis lap, while Curtis was sitting in a small camping chair. We laughed so hard, because you couldn't see Curtis!"
TIPS Curtis and Tiffany believe that a dog should accompany you, whenever possible.
Tiffany says, "Curtis always takes Buddy, even if its just to the garage. People assume that Rottweilers are mean dogs, but it is how the animal is brought up, that determines if they are nice or not. If a dog is socialized, and given basic obedience training, then they know what is expected of them, and never are a nuisance to you, and your neighbors. Buddy, loves people and the only thing scary about him is his size! Tips for people with more than one dog; separate the dogs when giving them their treats. It prevents unnecessary squabbles!
Or teach them to patiently wait, and give treats one at a time.
Also, when you have an animal, please keep them. Animals are attached to their family, its not fair to have them go from home to home."
