Pennies From Heaven by Charles Mashburn Copyright © 1998 I found a penny today laying on the ground, but it is not just a penny this little coin I have found. Found pennies come from Heaven. That's what my Grandpa, told me. He said, Angels toss them down. Oh, how I love that story. He said when an Angel misses you they toss a penny down, sometimes just to cheer you up, to make a smile from your frown. So don't pass by that penny
when you are feeling blue, it may be a Penny from Heaven that an Angel tossed to you. Tony's Miracle Penny

Tony Trupiano All parents have moments with their teenage children that cause great stress and concern.
I was not naive enough to think that this special rite of passage would not visit our family.
I wasn't wrong.
My oldest son, at age 17, was bright, charming, attractive, and extremely independent.
His skills as an athlete were admired and respected.
He was polite, caring, and respectful.
To everyone...except his parents.
Nothing new here. There was a particular argument a few years back, one of those you'd like to take back, that firmly placed the will of the parent against the challenge of the man/child.
No one won this one, but the aftermath tells a story.
My angry son decided that the world was a much easier place to live if he didn't have to view it from our house, so one evening he left in a huff.
He'd show us!
My wife and I, rather calmly, decided that maybe it would be best if he tasted reality right from the bottle.
We let him go into the cold night.
He had a wide circle of friends, so we were not too concerned whether or not he'd be warm and safe until he came to his senses.
The first night turned into a second and then a third.
Then it happened.
The phone rang midmorning....twice
First, it was the high school calling wanting to know why my son wasn't in school.
Then his guidance counselor called with a rumor that my son was leaving the state.
I panicked...grabbed my cell phone and began to drive the streets looking for him.
I visited the homes of his friends.
I drove down alleys.
I went everywhere I could think of.
I even stopped a policeman asking for advice, and I got it!
Go file a missing persons report.
As I drove to the police station, I called my wife to let her know what was happening.
I reached the police department, was greeted and asked to sit on the hard plastic chairs in their outer lobby.
Filled with anxiety, fear, and anger, I did as told.
As I sat down, I saw a penny with my peripheral vision.
It was dulled by use, and kicked around on the floor of the lobby.
I walked four steps to retrieve it, picked it up, palmed it, and returned to my seat.
My motivation for picking up the penny was not a belief in the old adage, "Find a penny, pick it up, All day long, you'll have good luck."
No, instead, I remember reading from this very Angel Scribe newsletter that pennies come from Angels, my Angels.
And now, I was at once curious and Blessed.
Feeling the tension beginning to rise and feeling the first signs of terror, I opened my hand.
This penny, long disregarded as having any value, held an important message for me.
Its value renewed; its impact immediate.
The date of the penny was 1982.
The same year my son was born!
In a millisecond, my entire world filled with hope and light.
I immediately sensed peace was here.
As I closed my hand to pray, my cell phone rang.
"Dad," the voice said.
"Can I come home? We need to talk."
There were a myriad of feelings and emotions that filled my head and heart those three days.
And, the following days were not without some angst, but my Angel gave me hope, and my son.
That penny is still with me ... years later. Its value?
Priceless.
