Candles of Appreciation
from the Courage Newsletter
Dick Kazan writes:
Thank you for asking how the last Candle Lighting went; a Lighting on behalf of all who have lost their lives or been seriously wounded in the War in Iraq, and for their families who bear the pain and the loss.
Last Wednesday evening, from 6 pm to 7 pm, at a busy Los Angeles area intersection, I lit four candles and displayed my sign.
My quiet, personal event went so well, that it was hard to leave at the end of the hour.
While most drivers appeared preoccupied, some drivers honked their horns in support, while others gave the peace sign or a thumbs up.
It was a moving experience to see people showing support.
One young man jumped out of his car and offered to donate money to buy my candles.
I thanked him for his generosity, but explained that I am not taking donations, I am doing this as a matter of conscience & compassion.
The most touching moment came when I was finishing up.
During a red traffic light, a young man stopped his car near the curb, where I was standing, and lowered his window.
He said he'd served in Iraq after Desert Storm, and two of his friends were killed there.
With emotion in his face and a quiver in his voice, he thanked me for lighting candles in their memory.
I light the Candles and display my sign because I believe it is the right thing to do, but this week seeing how it touched him, made it especially worthwhile.

Dearest Readers,
You have to admire a man who willingly stands up for his beliefs for others to see ... and LITErally lights the way.
Dick will be on that street corner with his candles next Wednesday too!
Dick's is the only on-line newsletter I read besides mine!

Dick's story, touched my heart, so I decided to light a candle for all the little children who do not have someone to read to them.
Here in Paraguay, poverty and ignorance abound ... and many children have never held a book.
Lighting a candle while walking the path of your talk is important.
There is a lovely church here, run by Italian Priests.
The Priests are hard workers and state clearly they will only work with the very poor.
Walking off the street and near the side of their church you come in sight of a grotto dedicated to Our Lady.
It is surrounded by shrubs...and stone...peace and quiet.
Then, a bit further on, you see a perfect log cabin.
One that fits right into a western movie, with a small bar where visitors can buy a cup of coffee and croissants.
Book shelves line the walls.
It is their Literary House, where one can read books.
From there you can see a castle ... a real brick castle!
"Whatever were they thinking of?" goes through one's mind.
"In a church?...for the children?"
You also see a second log cabin...where visitors can enjoy drinks and pizza.
All the money from sales goes to ... the castle ... which is a hospital for terminally ill patients who the Priests have picked up from the streets.
The patients are found, brought in, bathed, clothed and taken care of until they die.
The priest's say, "If Mother Teresa could do it, so can we."
It is here that I hope to start my reading, as they have one little boy in their hospital.
Thank you for sharing so much,
Love,
Barbara Jo in Paraguay

Spontaneous

of Inspiration
Inspired by my own Newsletter, "Courage" I joined the volunteer Fire Department.
My first job is helping elementary school children tour the Fire Station, experience a ride on the fire truck, and serve them ice cream.
I won't be driving the truck!
Will let you know how the fun event goes!
May you find something that inspires you, helps others and makes both of your hearts smile!
Angelic Blessings,

Homeopathic
Medicine
There are many wonderful methods in assisting our families to improve and hold their health.
I trusted Homeopathic medicine and Chinese medicine to save me when I had life threatening cancer five and a half years ago.
The doctors wanted to do surgery, chemo and radiation, but my heart knew there was another way to regain health.
So, I opted for surgery, Homeopathic and Chinese medicines to restore my health.
And an amazing dream message from the Angels about tapioca.
A favorite homeopathic website:
- Learn about homeopathic medicine and how it works.
- Plug in symptoms and educate yourself on remedies.
- They have an informative newsletter.
Great Webpage for educating folks
about winter blahs/blues.
Angel Cruise
For those who enjoyed the Angel Cruise to the Caribbean, several years ago, you will be excited to hear that comedian and musician, Bert Stratton, has a video of his fun-filled musical performance.

I love this newsletter's updates and appreciate your commitment to following through on past news.
Clearly when you receive replies on newsletter stories, it is a fact that these people are interested and curious about what you have shared.
It is a wonderful closure on the story of the rabbit, and updates on Mr. Purrfect, and to learn what you wrote inspired others to stop and do as you did. (The lab story).
I see it as a spiritual game of tag, "You're it!"
Reader's replies humanize the stories.
Real people stopped to talk to Dick about the candles, we would never have known if you hadn't told us; like the Captain of Star trek - you boldly go where no man has gone before.
You speak up, reach out, share, share, share.
Angel Scribe newsletters report good and bad news and you give us all a jolt, to do as you do, to become involved, to make a difference in someone's life.
News so lovingly and beautifully presented is welcomed, acted upon, enjoyed and I'm sure tested.
We wait for your newsletters to be posted with anticipation!
Thank you,
Love Ann in Canada

When I began reading your first line in your letter to your readers, it really moved me.
This is the belief I try to teach my own family everyday.
I believe its why we are here on the earth...to share kindness and make others lives better...we get it returned tenfold.
To that end, our family would like to purchase and donate one of each of your miracle books, autographed, to Barbara Jo in Paraguay, so she may begin reading the stories to those in the hospital there.
Your books are perfect because they are all small stories in
themselves and the miracles are so uplifting, I believe they will help heal those patients to spread the miracles around the world.
Of course, we will also pay for the postage!
I know authors make only pennies from their books and the cost of mailing usually offsets that!

I enjoy reading your newsletters and wish you luck with a column.
I write a monthly column for my magazine, but I too would like to write a column for something more in line with what I am impassioned by.
May both our desires come true.
God Bless you and your inspirational writing!

Stats
Some readers want to know how Angel Scribe newsletters are read over 100%.
Folks love to forward the newsletters onto their loved ones as a tool of inspiration, so each time a newsletter is opened, it is recorded.
Mr. Purrfect's newsletter was opened by 92% of our readers ... it was a tad slow as the "Courage" issue was opened by 94% of our readers!
These reader statistics inspire me to continuing sharing/writing for another ten years!
Readership interest like this is fantastic for any magazine or newspaper, so my miracle column will be a blessing to their
readership too.
